We're located on the corner of Daniel Square and Stebbins Street, just about half a mile from the Granby border. We're near the MacDuffie School, and about a mile off of Bay Road.
We're in a quasi-rural neighborhood, which means we have some great neighbors, plus some beautiful fields and trees, and several horses a short walk away.
We're on Stebbins Street, but because we're also on Daniel Square, that means we have a nice, quiet cul-de-sac for walks on nice days.
The Play Space
Summer Wind Daycare is in our family home, and the main indoor play space is in the living room, but we have access to the kitchen for meals and craft projects that need a larger table.
When it's time to go outside, we play in a smaller, fenced in part of the spacious 1/2 acre back yard. That keeps us safe while we play in the sandbox, or with our outdoor toys underneath the pine trees.
Because it's our home too, you'll see three cats wandering around (Sumi, Sif, and Minerva). They are super friendly, but mostly stay out of the way of rambunctious little ones. Another part of our home is, of course, our own little one, Leona! She's excited to have playmates to hang out with during the day.
We installed solar panels in 2018, and now 100% of our electricity usage comes from the sun!
And we've switched our paper towels and toilet paper to products made of bamboo, which is much more sustainable.
We love teaching the kids about how to take care of our planet one small step at a time.
